Have a dance class-related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • At what age can my child start dancing?

We offer introductory classes beginning at age three. We want to help your children learn to dance as soon as they are able. Just keep in mind that all dancers must be fully potty trained.

  • Can my child try out a class before we register?

Absolutely! The best way to get to know us is to have your dancer come and take a free, no-obligation trial class. To set up your free lesson, as well as a meeting and studio tour, please email us at info@padancearts.com. We look forward to welcoming you to our dance studio!

  • When does your dance season begin?

Our season begins in September after Labor Day and culminates with our year-end production in mid-June. Dancers remain with their class level throughout the year and are re-evaluated at the end of each season so that we can make class recommendations for the following September.

In addition, we offer a six-week summer program in July and August for all levels. Reach out today to learn more about our modern dance classes or any other classes that pique your interest.

  • Are parents or other family allowed in the classroom during a dance class?

Only students and our instructors are allowed in the classroom during dance classes. This allows the dancers the freedom to learn and the discipline to focus on the teacher and the technique. It is very important that our dancers learn to respect their teacher and that our teachers learn the best way to teach your dancer. Our instructors will occasionally invite parents in toward the end of class time to get a peek at what they are working on and see their progress.

  • How can I help my child prepare for the best dance experience?

We are so happy you are considering PADA for your child’s dance education! For them to have the best experience, please talk to them about proper behavior in class, such as following directions, listening to the instructor, not running or screaming, and keeping their hands to themselves. If your child is crying, we will work with you and communicate to determine a course of action.

Often, dancers must attend classes consistently for three or four weeks before settling into the routine and getting excited about dancing in a room with their friends. Our goal is to have your child excited about the world of dance and our dance studio!

  • What does my child need to wear to class?

The instructor must be able to observe the dancer’s body alignment to make proper corrections and help them learn to dance. Consequently, baggy clothing, jeans, sweatshirts, and other streetwear are inappropriate for dance classes. We require dance wear in all classes - a leotard and tights, or tight-fitting athletic wear must be worn. Our dress code and shoe requirements are provided to all dancers upon enrollment.

  • When will my child perform?

We have two performance opportunities for our dancers each season. All of our ballet classes perform in our December ballet production and all styles of dancers perform in our June Production. Both of these performances are wonderful opportunities for dancers to showcase the skills they have learned throughout the year.

  • Do you have a competition team?

PADA offers a competition program for dancers who are interested in dancing competitively. We hold auditions each May to form the competition team for the next season. Participation in this team involves a deeper level of time and financial commitment as team dancers have additional class and rehearsal requirements during the week.

We attend four to five events each season as a team, competing in group dances, as well as solos, duos, and trios. Please email us at info@padancearts.com for more information on our competition team, jazz dance classes, or more.

  • What kind of payments do I have to make?

There is a registration fee required per family upon enrollment and at the beginning of each Fall season. Class tuition is calculated for the full season and broken down into nine monthly payments made in September through May. Production fees are charged for each production which includes the dancer’s costume, accessories, and props for the show.

Additional fees apply to the competition team. Contact us today to get started with the leading provider of children's tap dance classes and more.

  • How do I know which class level to select?

As every dance school is different, the best way to be sure your dancer is placed at the correct level is to come in and take a free trial class. Our instructor will evaluate your dancer and recommend level placement. We do not place dancers based on age alone, as dancers should not be held back based on their age, nor should they be moved up based only on age.

Students should expect to spend more than one year in a particular level before being moved up, and age groups are not necessarily moved up together. We want them to be excited to walk into class and excited about their growth as a dancer! Call us today to learn about our hip hop classes or any of our other options.

  • What amenities are available at PADA?

Our dance studio is equipped with three beautiful dance spaces with sprung wood floors and Marley, two large bathrooms, and a large lobby that serves as a pleasant waiting area. Our lobby has cubbies for personal belongings, tables, desks for eating or doing homework on class breaks, a water cooler, a microwave, WiFi, and multiple outlets for charging phones and laptops.

  • What type of flooring do you have?

PADA offers professionally-installed StageStep sprung floors in all of our dance spaces. This is the ideal flooring for a dance studio as it allows motion in the flooring to protect and cushion a dancer’s joints and help prevent injuries.

  • What if I have additional questions?

We are always happy to answer any questions you may have! The quickest way to get a response is to email us at info@padancearts.com, and we will respond as soon as possible. We'd be happy to talk with you about our wide variety of classes from lyrical dance classes to musical theater.
