Combo Dance Lessons in Collegeville, PA

In addition to our single-discipline classes and acro clinic in Collegeville, PA, we also offer COMBO classes. Our COMBO classes are recommended for children ages five to six. If your child is new to dance or you’re interested in them receiving a broader dance education, these classes could be a fitting option. Our comprehensive COMBO classes are the next step in dance education.

Oftentimes, more variety can keep children from growing uninterested or unmotivated in an artistic pursuit. These stimulating introductory classes focus on the core fundamentals of several dance disciplines while allowing attendees to develop other skills.

Unlike our classes focused solely on single disciplines, these classes allow for exposure to several different disciplines to provide a balanced, multifaceted approach to dance education. This set of classes also offers similar benefits to those gained in our acro clinic in Collegeville, PA. These benefits include increased creativity, stronger confidence, lower chances of injury during other physical activities, and more.

Ballet/Lyrical Combo Class

Our Ballet/Lyrical class combines the two different dance styles to build on one another. Lyrical dance is an expressive form, which focuses on the meaning and emotion behind lyrics. This form of dance is already considered by some to be a combination of other forms. Since the dance is tied to the emotions of a song, the dancer’s movements will be expressive and striking.

Ballet is built more on an historic technique. Consequently, our Ballet/Lyrical class focuses on the fundamental of ballet technique, including strength, balance, and grace. It also teaches proper body alignment and posture as students learn basic positions.

Tap/Jazz Combo Class

Our Tap/Jazz class combines tap and jazz, two dance styles that can excel alongside upbeat, energetic music. As similar as they are, these styles have many differences in dance education. Jazz dance is often set to popular music and performed with contemporary dance moves. Tap dance provides faster footwork and creates rhythm through tapping. Due to its fast pace, tap dance promotes quick thinking.

Tap and jazz are two especially creative dance styles centered around rhythm. In this class, students learn the beginning steps of both. As the season progresses, they’ll work on developing their understanding of dance terminology, learning choreography, and refining their musicality. Since these styles are very dependent on recognizing rhythm, it’s especially important for dance students to nurture their musical sensitivity and knowledge. In these classes, our lessons will foster self-expression by improving technique and embracing performance.

Both of these COMBO classes will build a strong foundation for dance while helping to develop, coordination, flexibility, self-confidence, and self-discipline. While all of these values will be beneficial to all other styles of dance, the value of self-discipline will be especially useful for the other styles and life as a whole.

At PADA, your child will be in small classes and receive the attention they deserve. They also learn from passionate professionals, not students, so they learn proper techniques. I’ve had my daughters at three studios, and we found our home here.
